It was time to move on, I suppose...
I used to not really like football. I thought it was a boring game. Though I can kick the ball & dribble, I was never good at it myself. I preferred to play basketball. During that time, Micheal Jordan was the icon of the NBA.
Anyhow, my view of football & EPL changed when I saw my favourite 3 players: Henry, Vieira & Pires played with the Arsenal. I became a Gunner after that till this day. They played beautiful football. It was always exciting to see them play. I would always look forward to the weekends when the EPL was in season. I'd even wake up in the wee hours of the morning to watch them play in the Champion's League.
Then one by one, they start leaving. At first it was Vieira, then Pires, it was just a matter of time Henry left... It became a reality on 24th June 2007. Henry signed for Barcelona, the very club that has been tempting him for the past season.
Players move on, football clubs move on, fans have to move on... Lets hope Wenger made the right move this time...
Thats why I like football as a sport. It is akin to life itself, full of ups and downs. And when someone whom you adore as a fan, as iconic & influential like Henry leaves, there is that feeling of sadness & uncertainty. A typical Malaysian football fan would switch allegiance. I won't, I would just add another one - Barcelona.
Besides, my MU fan brother (who thinks that MU is probably the best club in the world) would have the last laugh against me...
No way, I'm gonna let him have that!!!

You put it right. Just like a good friend resigning and joining Petronas! Life must go on.
Sometimes..life can be more miserable...having to clean up the s**t left behind!
MU is like UNITAR. The "star" will leave like a forgotten star. No proper farewell or at least to say thank you for the good job done.
Just like footballers who have ups and downs, we are also like that...there are good and unsupportive team mates, coach, manager, supporters etc.
When we move on, if we are lucky, we got a good place to work. If not, like the football players, we will have another miserable years.
Sad sad day for Arsenal fans... the bright side of things? I'm now a Barcelona fan... hahaha...
Sad sad sad day for UNITAR too, astonishingly. Everybody's weepy and sad... a lot of tears when they hugged and shook hands with Voldermort because it is his last day today. He even shed some tears and asked forgiveness from everyone.
*sigh* Sedih gak la...
Orak arik....Like Henry, I couldn't resist the temptations of going to a bigger club (read: organisation) when there is no longer the desire to remain in the previous club. Perhaps the fresh challenge at the new club will spur my true potential. Also when the president of the company started leaving, surely u'd have sensed that something is not right.
But there is also the challenge of competition as there are many good players around. As for me, I have to compete with 80+ lawyers. So life is not easy, my friend. But life has to go on, Henry's got to play on... Barca here I come...
Ayu, i just got to know last night that Voldermort had resigned...How come u ppl dont tell me these things.... And I've already given a piece of my mind on yr blog already.
For me, it is actually a sad day for the staff of UNITAR as things seem to be more uncertain now. At least with Voldermort around, he knows how to manage finances well.
Voldermort is a smart guy, at least he has secured a better, greener place for himself... How bout u?
